Shortly after the new year Gatlinburg will shift back down into 1st gear. The hustle and bustle of the holidays will slow down and the long drawn out “howdy” will resurface. January will be cool and brisk, the traffic as a whole will be a little less. If we are lucky the ski Lodge will have good enough weather to keep their snow machines blowing through the night.

If you have been a recluse all year long and want to come out of your shell, then January is the month to shed your skin. Most of the shops will close just a little bit earlier, you won’t have to be a college running back to walk down the sidewalks. Don’t worry there will still be plenty of pancakes to inhale at the pancake pantry.
